GOVERNMENT COLLEGE, AJMER

Government college, Ajmer is started as an english  school in 1836 by East India Company and became an intermediate college in 1868. Degree classes in Arts subjects were started in 1896 and in science subjects in 1913. In the year 1946 came the first post graduate department. Degree classes in commerce were added in 1949 and law classes in 1951. At this moment this is the only Government college in Rajasthan with  facilities for postgraduate studies and research in science subjects of  Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Commerce, English, Sanskrit, Hindi, History, Economics, Sociology, urdu, Sindhi, Geography  Philosophy and Political Science.

GCA changed its affiliation from Calcutta Universit to Allahabad University in 1886 and further to Agra University in 1927. The college came under the jurisdiction of university of Rajasthan in 1956. Finally college came under the jurisdiction of Ajmer Unversity when it came into existence.

It has at present the largest number of post graduate departments, well-equipped  laboratories for post graduate studies and research, a library rich in books and journals nd excellent lodging accommodation in hostel for girls.

DAYANAND COLLEGE, AJMER

            This institution was founded in 1868 as a school and today it is the oldest Dayanand college of India. At present the management of this college is under the D.A.V.       management committee New Delhi. The institution is a multi faculty college having faculties of Arts, Commerce, Science, Agriculture and Physics Education. The college is  well equipped  with sports complexes, Library, Dairy etc.

SAVITRI GIRLS' COLLEGE AJMER

The savitri girls college was founded in 1914 as small school to educate girls. It gradually grew from primary to a high school and in 1955 was raised to graduate college status. To day this insitution is a full fledged college permanently college permanently affiliated to Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer, in the faculties of Arts, Science, B.Sc. GOVERNMENT GIRLS' COLLEGE AJMER

The Government Girls College Ajmer  was established by the State government in 1994 for encouraging a liberal and enlightened education among women. The college acquired permanent affiliation from M.D.S. university Ajmer during the session 1998-99.

At present the college is providing education up to graduate level in faculties of Arts and Commerce.
